Our Factory
OUR MANUFACTURING PROCESS
Our fabric manufacturer opened doors in 1962 and was the first to specialize in producing woven fabrics. Their mission statement is ‘the pleasure of doing things properly’ and we share their ethos.
Our manufacturer has always been forward-thinking, producing stretch and warp knitted fabrics before the trend was set. Now it continues to be a trend-setter producing high-end quality ECONYL® sustainable fabrics and saving waste from l.
Lumiere Paris couldn’t be prouder to work with a manufacturer that lives and breathes its commitment to sustainability and the planet.
Our manufacturer ensures sustainability throughout their process, not just the end result.
They only use electricity from renewable sources and in 2018 saved energy equal to the annual consumption of 1900 people. Even more impressive, they produce over 10.500.000 kWh of electricity internally annually. That could light up 15 Eiffel towers for a year.
Sophisticated systems sort rainwater from civil and industrial waters so rainwater can be reused. 62.3% of the water used in their production process is recycled.
In 2019 they prevented 2.426.000kg of CO2 emission from being released into the atmosphere and their emissions are 10 times lower than the legal limits.
99% of their waste is recycled and reused, saving the equivalent of 160 garbage trucks of waste ending up in landfills.
Even at the end of their process, our manufacturer ensures their packaging and shipping has a minimal impact on the environment. Their packaging saves 70,000 barrels of crude oil and 65,100 tonnes of CO2 emissions. Their cardboard is 90% recycled, the ink is water-based and the tissue paper is certified by the Eco Packaging Alliance which means trees are planted to contribute to global reforestation.
Their shipping is completely carbon neutral and they donate a portion of their profits to plastic ocean clean-up and plant a tree with every order.
